Chanukah is just around the corner! Build the anticipation and create a beautiful decoration for your home with our 8 Days of Chanukah craft.
What you will need:
8 small bags (we used canvas, burlap, brown lunch bags and paper gift bags)
Twine
Clothespins
Number stamps
Ink pad
Chanukah goodies: chocolate gelt, confetti, dreidels, etc.
Instructions:
Step 1: Stamp the numbers 1-8 on your bags, alternating types of bag (they look great hanging when you vary them!)
Step 2: Fill each bag with your Chanukah-themed goodies.
Step 3: String up a length of twine.
Step 4: Fold down the tops of each bag and attach to the twine with clothespins. Each night, let your little ones take down a bag and enjoy!

I love this idea! If you have more than one child, would you let a different child pull down and open the bag each night and then share or create multiple different number 1 bags?
I think my natural tendency would be to create multiple different number 1 bags, however, since the kids are helping to make this, I say let them weigh in! They sometimes can come up with some very creative solutions that would surprise you! Would you fill the bags with your kids or would you fill them alone and keep the goodies a surprise for each night? Also, what would you put in them?

This is so creative and makes the 8 nights of Chanukah even more special! It’s so cute I bet both adults and kids would be jazzed to have this hanging in their home.
We had so much fun doing this! Kids’ idea to put 1 item in bag 1, 2 in bag 2 etc. We put enough in each bag for the kids to share. Chocolate bar in #1 that they can share, two bags of gummies in #2…Fun to play with stamps!

What a great idea! I’m going to use this concept for my daughter’s 7th birthday party. Instead of numbers, I will stamp the name of each child on the bag and they will be able to help themselves to an adorable goodie bag on the way out.
Elizabeth, that’s a really great idea. Or, you can let each child stamp their own name and decorate their own goodie bag on the way out!

You inspired me! I am a First grade teacher and right before winter break we usually hang balloons with different daily treats, such as tomorrow will be a pizza party, or wacky hair day, or Pajama party. At the end of the day we pop a balloon to see what treat lies ahead. Instead of balloons I will make these bags with numbers and a lucky student will pick a number to determine what the treat will be. I like these bags since they are recyclable and better for the environment. Since we study recycling I will teach by example!!!!!
