DIY Circus “Ring of Fire”

We love the circus in my house. What’s not to love about treats, games and fun? The bright colors and whimsical attractions make it such an exciting experience. It was so much fun for our whole family I decided to try and find a way to bring the circus to our house. Since getting a real ring of fire was out of the question, we used our imagination and came up with a DIY Circus “Ring of Fire” craft of our own. My girls even turned this amazing craft into a little game!

What you will need:
Hula Hoop
Orange and Yellow Felt
Tacky Glue
Gold ribbon

Step 1: Fold a piece of felt in half and cut a wavy shaped triangle. Cut the orange triangle slightly larger than the yellow one so the yellow can fit inside, creating the “flame.”

Step 2: Using tacky glue, coat one side of the orange flame. Wrap this around the hula hoop and press firmly.

Step 3: Apply glue to the yellow flame. Place on top of the orange flame and press firmly.

Step 4:  Once you’ve applied three or four flames to the hoop, attach the gold ribbon using a slip knot.

Step 5: Continue steps 2 and 3 until the hoop is covered in flames.

When our ring was finished, my girls came up with a circus-inspired game all on their own. They got a tiger stuffed animal and took turns trying to get him through the “ring of fire.” I even tried a couple times myself!
